Introducing a new era for Villages of the Berkshires!
We are here to help older adults build mutually supportive social networks that foster healthy aging.
Did you know?
Lacking social relationships can:
- Significantly increase a person’s risk of premature death
- Increase risk of heart disease and stroke
- Lead to a decline in cognitive abilities and increased risks of dementia, depression, and anxiety
- Result in poorer sleep quality
What we offer:
· People Pods - people may join a small group in their area that meets routinely to build social connections and a network of mutually supportive friends. Meetings can be virtual or in-person.
· Friendly Connections- is a VoB program that matches a volunteer with an older person for weekly phone calls or in-person visits. This no-cost program is an opportunity to meet someone new, discover common interests, and feel more connected to the community.
· Quarterly Social Gatherings and Community Events - we bring everyone together at least once a quarter to meet in person for gatherings, meetings or special presentations. Members are encouraged to bring a friend to introduce our friendly VoB community!
Let's Connect! Listserv - join our members-only listserv to communicate with other area seniors any time night or day. Ask the questions you wouldn't put on any other listserv: Need a ride to an important doctor's appointment? Looking for a walking buddy? Can you recommend a good book? Put it on the listserv.

HOW INTERGENERATIONAL CONNECTIONS HELP OLDER ADULTS
Villages of the Berkshires is based in Lenox, MA with a small administrative staff. We are represented in the community through our local, geographically based villages which are run entirely by volunteers. Currently, these local villages are Central Village and SAGE Village.
