Subject: Callers Service Group - Fall 2021 Services Campaign

Hello Village Volunteers Callers,

Our service group is going to make calls next week to encourage all of our members to request volunteer services for our second Seasonal Services Campaign. I will be sending an email out to the full membership soon and I’ll also send out personalized call lists to each of you this week so that we can reach every member.

Our job as callers is to:

  1. Call and greet the member, introducing yourself and explaining that this call is part of our  Services Campaign - fall begins September 22!
  2. All members are encouraged to make a service request. This helps
  • volunteers gain hours and experience for our organization
  • members to address anything they may need help with
  1. Acquaint members with all of our services, as needed, and make suggestions based on their needs and interests for the fall season.  Review needs that were met or unmet over the past season for future planning.
  2. A change of season is a great time to check in with members.  Service requests don’t have to be for the immediate future. We can use the fall season as a conversation- starter. Some examples:

Do you have air conditioners that need to be taken out of the windows?

Do you need help moving outdoor furniture inside this fall?

Do you need help tidying a garage to get your car inside?

Do you need help swapping out screens for windows?

Do you need light help with yard clean up? Companion raking?

Would you like a partner to pick up sticks in your yard?

Do you drive at night?  If not, do you see yourself needing night-time rides to cultural events?

  1. The following is our standard list of services:

  1. Thank them and ask if they have any questions - if there is anything that you cannot answer, please note it on your call sheet.

For some of you this will be your first time making calls.  On Monday, September 20 at 10am  I will be in a “drop-in” Zoom Room for anyone who wants to touch base about this activity, to discuss calling or to say “hi.”  You can use this link to join in:

 https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85297812605

There are really just two steps to this:

  1. Make the calls
  2. convey the service request information to me when you’re done

Please reply or call with any questions. I will try to send personalized call list emails out to each of you tomorrow or the next day.

Thank you!

Carolyn
